The Phoenix Consort
The Phoenix Consort is an award-winning vocal ensemble, specialising in choral music from polyphony of the Renaissance to contemporary compositions. The group consists of young artists, originally founded at Durham University, and has expanded to a UK-wide network of exciting young choral musicians.
Since starting during the pandemic, the group has performed across the United Kingdom, achieved two prizes at the 54th Tolosa Choral Competition in Spain in 2023, and recorded several albums of contemporary choral music.
The consort’s main aims surround bringing new music to a wide variety of audiences and showcasing choral music as an art form among younger generations.
Music Education
National Schools Singing Programme
Adam works as a Choral Director with the National Schools Singing Programme, delivering singing workshops and musical experiences to primary school children across the region. The programme aims to ensure every child has the opportunity to sing and develop their musicality.
Diocese of Leeds
As a Choral Director with the Diocese of Leeds, Adam works across 11 schools in Bradford, delivering weekly singing sessions and leading musical projects. He also conducts the Bradford Catholic Youth Choir, leading them in services, concerts, and radio broadcasts.
Guest Conducting
Adam is experienced in guest conducting and deputising for choral societies and other choirs. He brings energy, musicality, and clear direction to rehearsals and performances, and is comfortable working with a wide range of repertoire from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works.
