About


Adam studied Russian and Spanish at Durham University, where he directed the university’s Chamber Choir and founded the Phoenix Consort. He is currently a Choral Director with the Diocese of Leeds and National Schools Singing Programme, delivering musical experiences to hundreds of children across West Yorkshire each week.

Alongside directing, his singing work includes Durham Cathedral Choir as a choral scholar, the early music ensemble Ottava Rima, the Seville Choral Society in Spain, and Voces Tallinn Chamber Choir in Estonia. He performs regularly as a soloist in recitals of English song, Lieder, and oratorio.

The Phoenix Consort

The Phoenix Consort is an award-winning vocal ensemble, specialising in choral music from polyphony of the Renaissance to contemporary compositions. Founded at Durham University, the group has expanded to a UK-wide network of exciting young choral musicians. The consort has performed across the United Kingdom, achieved two prizes at the 54th Tolosa Choral Competition in Spain, and recorded several albums of contemporary choral music.
